Tai Chi - Healthcare Perspective

The ancient Chinese art of Tai Chi Chuan (Great ultimate fist) promotes the smooth flow of Qi in the 12 major channels, and by doing so improves health.

The 64 step Chen style Tai Chi Chuan form, along with co-ordinated abdominal breathing and focus of the mind helps the cultivation of Qi. This allows the energy to flow freely around the body and the mind to relax. The form also increases flexibility, suppleness and strength of the joints and muscles.

After practicing Tai Chi for only a short time the beneficial effects to your mind and body can be felt. Both mind and body relax, which will help fight the stresses of modern day life.

One of the unique aspects of Chen Tai Chi is the emphasis on Chan Si Jin or silk reeling exercise, where every movement starts from the lower abdomen and then spirals around the body and into the limbs, opening the channels and generating energy.
