Student Experiences

I was nine when my mate invited me along to kung - fu. It sounded better than 'Cubs' or 'Boys Brigade' and it certainly carried more punch in the playground than a 'reef knot'.

My friend and I stuck with the training and when we couldn't get enough of it, even took to padding up and sparring around the living room (often cut short by a knock to the family treasure!).

I found it impossible to resist the urge to delve deeper into this seemingly mysterious Asian martial art. After many wonderful Summer Courses, Monkey (Magic) Videos and Jackie Chan Movies, I still find myself as hooked as ever. I recently returned from two years in Asia (teaching English) and studying Tai-Chi. My mate has a lot to answer for!

To anyone considering studying Lau-Gar Kung-Fu, I would appeal to them to do so. Thanks to Sifu Thomas I have undoubtedly bettered myself personally - both mentally and physically. Not being the most agile of people to put it mildly(!), I have greatly benefited from his patience and insight. And Keith's guidance certainly kept me on the straight and narrow through my wilder teenage years. I no longer study kung-fu, I am kung-fu!
