Student Experiences

I first attended a Lau Gar Kung Fu class at the age of 10, when my parents saw an advertisement in the local paper. I have since participated in both lessons and other training aspects including summer courses and traditional Chinese Lion Dances.

I have been training under my instructor and friend Keith Thomas for 15 years and have never looked back from my very first lesson. I now have gained my third degree black sash and are one of the few high-grade members who instruct lessons on a regular basis at the Stockton club.

Over the years I have come to appreciate how my time training has helped to both develop my character and overall bodily health including both

physical and mental aspects. I have realised how the different areas of training help me both inside of lessons and out, as I have developed immense discipline and stamina as well as the ability to push myself further than I ever thought possible.

Kung Fu has helped me in so many ways it is impossible to name them all but I feel that there is no other one activity which can help to develop a person so fully. Without it I highly doubt I would be anything like the person I am today.
